Armeria (Thrift)
I have a clump of the above which has about six flower buds coming up, the problem is there are lot of bluebells pushing thro it too. Will it be o.k. to dig the whole clump out and remove the bluebells or might that spoil the thrift and stop it blooming. I have bluebells all over my garden and they grow thro everything, those and welsh poppies!! Grrrrrr - TIA rosy

Given that bluebells are considerably less common that they were, i hope you wont get rid of them all together. They don't harm other plants and die down after flowering. I let mine grow where they will and would be sorry to lose them.

Thank you both for your replies. I think they are English bluebells going by your link boxtops. I do love them but between those and the welsh poppies with their long roots the rest of the stuff don't have a chance, the poppies are growing thro' the hostas in my pots even. I usually scatter them in woods near us, or put them at the back of the garden. I couldn't put them in the bin, heck I'm the one who buys all the half dead stuff in the garden centre 'cos I'm sory for them, lol. Thanks again, rosy
