this may have to go into the history section but thought i would ask here first, my grandad always said he never got his www2 medals possibly because he was in hospital for a good 2 years afterwards and when he died we never did find them, so how can we find out if he did indeed get them or not, thanx

thanx for quick reply dont know exactly what his last job/role was in the royal air force but maybe can find out, he left raf in the early 1950's i think
If you know his national service number it should be fairly easy find out what medals he should have recieved.

sorry eddie51 it wasnt national service he was in but i think i could put my hands on his raf service number if thats what you mean but then what would my next port of call be?
The medal department of the MOD will have your grandad's RAF records to hand, and will be able to say whether he received his medals or not...
