Apparently

"If you are legally allowed to work or live in the UK, then you can apply, it's as simple as that."

So, you don't have to actually live or work here, just be legally allowed to, so will obviously need no criminal record.

Gromit

Thousands had to stand outside for hours to audition for a team of Britain's Got Talent behind-the-scenes staff late last year. But not the Loveable Rogues. They were invited to try out and did not have to queue for hours with thousands of wannabes to perform for the judges.

Loveable Rogues, Te Eugene, Sonny Jay and Eddie Brett admitted that they only signed up after producers approached them.

They even refused to take part unless they could sing their own song Lovesick.

Sonny said: “We never really thought about doing shows like this, but an opportunity came along and it would be silly not to.”

Gromit - that doesn't sound fair. It seems BGT does not need rules.
