My aunt is looking for a life cover plan with full cover after a year to cover the cost of her funeral. She is nearly 80 but is not sure if a life cover plan is best or just a funeral plan, she would like to pay so much a month but is not sure what company is the best, as there seems to be so many.
Can anyone help with advice of a good company.
Thanks in advance.

If I were her I'd go with the funeral plan if that isall she wants it to cover not least because it gives her control over the sort of funeral, and she will know that noone will have to do anything when she dies apart from 'activate' the plan.
i am sure at her age that would be really reassuring for her
I saw somwwhere that these plans are a bit of a rip off. Put the money in a savngs account. Funerals are not vastly expensive like weddings.
The plans where you prepay your funeral seem to be reasonable value but the savings plans you see advertised on telly by the Likes of Esther Rantzen are a rip off and there are better ways of using the money.
Michael Parkinson came in for criticism on Watchdog. If he and Esther cannot be trusted who can?
I would just suggest to her that she puts the money by each month, perhaps into an ISA if she still pays tax. There is nothing to stop her speaking to her local funeral director and writing down the instructions about what she wants to happen at her funeral. Your local FD might also be able to advise which funeral plans they work with (if she'd still rather do that) so there is no doubt then that this particular FD is covered by the funeral plan.
