facebook delete friends

i have just deleted one of my friends from facebook how will she know shes deleted will she get a message saying profile no longer available or will my name be removed from her friends list??

Surely the point of Facebook is to get as many 'friends' as possible (it doesn't actually matter if you know them or not, friends of friends will do) on your profile to show how popular and wello liked you are!

I wouldn't notice, I rarely look at my friends list... I think most people on my 'official' FB are either related to me or I've known a long time so I think it's in the small print they're not allowed to delete me.

1) they will not get notification, you will just not be on their friends list anymore. In practice if they have a lot of friends they may not even notice. if you are 1 of 2 friends they might!
2) no you cant see who has visited your profile

Gosh. All these politics over somebody who is supposed to be a friend. . You've just given me the ideal excuse for avoiding Facebook like the plague. Can't understand why friendship has been turned into some kind of political blackmail - i.e. if you're not my friend on Facebook, you've lost face. It rather amazes me that people can't understand how they're being socially manipulated by peer pressure - seems more like status seeking than friendship to me, i.e. the more friends you have, the more social kudos you're supposed to have. We all know it's nonsense.

possibly the sadder question is - do you want her to know she's deleted ? is this a twist of the social knife?


why not just get teacher to read it out in assembly?
