Does anyone know of a way (preferbly free!) that I can write a simple text message from my email on my computer to either my own mobile (to send on to my brother's) or send the message directly to the recipient's mobile? I'e tried a couple of so-called "free" sites only to find out later there may be a charge to the recipient. Another wouldn't allow me to use because it only allowed analogue modems which I don't have. Thanks in advance, lol. ;)

Which mobile do you have and which provider?

A nokia (not sure which version, but it was cheap)< provider is orange.
Thanks. :)
Either from the orange website then (if you are registered)

Or via the phone if it's connected to the computer via USB (assuming it's a supported model)

I found this just now. No idea whether it is suitable.

All good answers thanks folks, alas there's a catch in everyone - you just can't seem to get this thing absolutely free, theyall appear to charge the recpitent £2.50 (or say there might be a cost). I can't odds that and I feel in unfair the way they say there're "Free". I've since given up on the idea and will keep to my own brand of shorthand on my nopy texts, lol. :)
