I don't plan to use it outside of the house so I expect it is just a wi-fi one. The picture quality is brilliant although I can't see much difference between this new one and my old one (although I expect I just don't know how to use it properly). If you get one be prepared to find that everyone else in your house will want to use it too (the kids are not allowed to touch the new one and have been 'gifted' the old one).
I agree with the first 2 respondants. If you are used to a proper PC or laptop, the ipad will be a novelty for a few days, and then it will start to annoy you.
Its the lack of a proper browser that gets me. Internet Explorer may have its faults but it does the complete job, all on one page. An ipad is OK if all you intend to do is check your emails and look at photos but I don't think its a substitute for a real computer.
Also they are so expensive ! You can easily get a laptop for much less that Apple charge. A month ago I bought a small "notebook" in Comet for £249.
its an ACER Aspire 722. Its has a 10 inch screen, Dual-core processor, 2GB of memory, and a 320 hard disc. Its almost as good as my desk top but takes up much less roon.
The battery life is about hours.
Compare that with an ipad !
