Still cant find them but something interesting just popped up when I googled Robert Street, Chelsea. It appears that Thomas Crapper was apprentice to a plumber on Robert Street and then in 1861 set up his own business as we know invented the syphon and ballcock toilet cistern. Theres a photo of all his employees outsdie his shop too. Ive written to the firm who are still going, and they even have a FB page, and are going to find out if this Henry/Harry Chubb worked for him and see if theres any other info they can give me. Im so excited that hopefully this might be a breakthrough. I will be going down there sometime in the summer and go into it more deeply though.
Just thought I would keep you updated
