Exercises for when you are in the AB Care Home.

Are you sitting comfortably? Good. Now raise your right foot slightly off the ground and start turning your foot in a clockwise direction. At the same time draw an imaginary figure 6 in the air with your right forefinger. Your foot will now start rotating anticlockwise. (Well it did for the four of us who tried it.) Anything more strenuous I will have to think about.

Put your two hands together with finger tips touching including your thumbs (like in prayer but palms must not be touching) bend your MIDDLE fingers down towards your palms and press the knuckles on these fingers firmly together and don't open them at all. Keeping your hands like this in a "steeple" pose - open your two little fingers (finger tips) apart and then back to original position. That was easy wasn't it? Now do the same with your thumbs, then put back together .........then your index (first) fingers. All easy so far ....Now here is the hard one .......remember, keeping your knuckles of your middle fingers pressed firmly together - try to open your ring fingers ! It is impossible .......... our fingers and the connecting tendons, guides etc are simply not built to do this.
