I WAS TOLD BY A FRIEND THAT THE BLACKBIRDS ON THE WEST COAST OF SCOTLAND ARE MIGRATORY. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE? I CAN RECOGNISE SOME OF MY ONES BY CERTAIN MARKINGS AND THEY SEEM TO BE HERE SUMMER AND WINTER .

Not just West Coast, then!
Nope, it appears they do it every where ;-)
The trouble nowadays with migrations in the UK is that not all birds that are said to migrate do so, some staying behind to take advantage of a then more liberal food source.
The slightly warmer average climate creates more insect life than previous virtual absence.
wildwood, are you anything to do with Wildwood nr Canterbury?
