Red Hair Genes

Can somebody answer my question ? I have ginger hair and freckles and my husband has dark brown hair which was blond as a child.

Although Red Hair is a recessive gene could someone advise me what colour hair my child will have when it is born ??? If you have a boy does it inherit more of the genes from the father ?

Any I think. My uncle has ginger hair, it was almost orange when he was young, and his wife has dark brown. He has four children. The oldest has dark brown, next dark auburn, next one was born blonde and now has dark brown and finally the youngest is ginger

Its all about X and Y chromosomes and the way they form from conception. Almost anybody can have a 'ginger' baby if there is any form of the colouring in their ancestry.

My wife and I are both red-haired and our daughter is really copper coloured. Our son on the other hand has blonde hair.

Why the question? surely your not anti-ginger!

brown hair is dominant over red hair, however if your hubby is carrying a red gene you could well have a red haired baby.
