They must have some mechanism for sifting out frauds, or else they would lose a fortune. If she has forged your signature, or used your official details, such as your National Insurance number, together with her own bank-details, the loan company should surely have smelled a rat.
By the way, whose home address did she use ?
If she has used criminal methods to obtain money, she may well be facing imprisonment. But if she claims she had no choice ( if, for instance, she is looking after your children and cannot work, and you have not been paying agreed maintenance), a court may be more lenient.

atalanta, most of these payday loan companies do online applications which mean all they take is your bank details, work details and home address. They then call your work and ask to speak to you, I made the mistake of going for one and all they did was call my main office, ask to speak with me and my boss said she isn't in the office right now can I take a message? Payday loan company said no it's ok we'll try her mobile... and within an hour I had the money in my account. Not very secure at all and sadly it shows in this case too :(
