My 5 yr old Rover 214 has just failed it's MOT miserably - I have been quoted 300 to put it right. Is this a fair quote for the following work? new parking light, new washer blade, new discs and brake pads, rebalancing of brakes, brake canopies, new bolt on handbrake and new exhaust centre pipe. : ( ( (Moral - don't buy Rovers - they're C**P - spent a fortune on it!)
Thanks - my partner is getting stuck into the brake bits today (so no labour charges thank god!) Car shopping now - anyone want a low mileage Rover??!! ; )
I was going to say that apart from the balancing, everything else could be done with a Haines manual and a bit of time/effort and it's not rocket science, but i see your partner has decided to do that already.......
A very similar thing happened to me a while back. They wanted 800 to sort my escort out which isnt that old. I basically did the work myself with a bit of help from kwick fit who did the exhaust. I think all in all it cost about 250.
