Ed appears to have had his techies slaving away and has now put matters right with FF12. However FF13 is being released in two days time (June5th) and it is possible that there could be further problems for folk who like to keep up-to-date with their FF Browser..... Actually, I think things should be OK because, for the past few weeks, I have been using FF Beta13 which is, as I understand the position, a trial run of FF13 and can report that there has not been any problems within AB, as have been experienced with FF 12.( Postings etc .)

At the moment I can either have one which gives me a 'Chrome Web Store' opener, or another which has eight boxes that include a direct link to my Profile page in AB, along with a 'sign-in' box to AB which is superfluous, but I cannot remove it.
Furthermore, although I have installed Adblock and it operates if I go the long way around into AB, it does not function if I set-up a shortcut on my desktop.
It is the case that with FF I have a short cut direct to my profile page in AB and if I wish to go elsewhere on the Internet I can open my FF browser with the following page,:-
http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0&hl=en

Hi there my namesake (Ron)...Sorry I missed your posting whilst I was compiling a reply to Mobius.
Firefox 13 is not officially launched until tomorrow. Therefore. I think you must have somehow downloaded at some stage Firefox Beta. I know that I have FF Beta because I specifically downloaded it when AB was having problems with FF12; however it is listed in my comp as Firefox 13 without any reference to Beta.
Katie has made a good point. Consequently, you could just leave things as they are for the moment and see what reports appear in AB about FF13. I shall have a go at it and will post something in the columns of AB about the up-dated version. I think that within about six weeks we shall see FF14 with us.....It's becoming ridiculous and the issue strengthens what Katie has said.

Cheers W Ron and my apologies to everyone for the Typo which only now I have noticed. Why didn't someone tell me that my OP made reference to FIFEfox which suggests an animal which is 'North of the border' and not the creature (Firefox) which I have in my computer, resident in South Wales .!!?? :-)
Good night folks.....Ron.

Ron, if you mean you access a website via Chrome from a Chrome application shortcut on the desktop, there is a way for it to open it with your extensions active (that would otherwise be operating within an open browser session). If you do a Google search for 'enabling chrome extensions via registry' there are userguides on how to enable to extensions by default, irrespective of whether you have an active Chrome session running.
Katie - the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' motto doesn't work for web browsers. If you want proof look at the history of IE. They didn't fix or change that for many years because it 'worked'. Innovation for innovation's sake isn't necessarily a good thing, but a drive toward progression and improvement is important. Don't forget as well that constant work and updates are required for browsers now - they are extremely complex pieces of software that have to display and decode masses of varying data and are prone to security vulnerabilities. If we abide by not fixing that which isn't broken, Firefox wouldn't ever have existed in the first place.

I use Chrome and when I open it all my tabs open as they did in Firefox - eg, Answerbank, Twitter, Facebook, BBC news etc. In set up, I have 'continue where I left off'.
If I open a new tab, I have set the page to show the apps I use most - weather, quick note, planetarium, You Tube, Angry Birds and a few web pages I like to dip in to.
So I don't understand why Ron has a problem

I think I have now got the hang of Chrome and for the moment I do not have any further problems. However, having become so accustomed to Firefox I think I'll keep FF13 as my default.
Incidentally, I have now installed FF13 and, so far as I can make out, there are Not any Problems with using it on AB.

P.S. A number of Mozilla sites are still 'dishing-out' FF12.
I had difficulty finding the right one for FF13
Hope this works for anyone who wants to download it.:-
