My daughter has an interview for a pet store. The interview will be a public interview meaning all applicants will need to be there at the same time. She has been told that the staff will be wearing uniforms and applicants will wear casual dress. What does this mean? What type of clothing is acceptable for this type of interview? All she has are tidy black skinny jeans with a tidy top and boots or full on interview clothes. Are the jeans acceptable or should she go shopping tomorrow? We're both broke though so cant really afford much.
I suggest that what she's planning to wear would be fine, particularly if she'll be working in the shop rather than the office - they have said "casual" so smart casual sounds good to me.
clean tidy top and suggest trousers rather than jeans, when interviewing i always looked for a smart well turned out person, two people with the same qualifications, the smarter one would sway as they had made the effort.
wish her good luck, i hope she gets the job. B.
i would suggest perhaps some black leggings with a smart top, nothing glittery or fancy, perhaps with one those jumper/dresses. I remember going for a interview to work in argos over the xmas period, the dress code for that was casual. i made a effort to look smart either way, first impressions count and all. I was mortified to see people turning up in hoodies and jeans.
