Leviticus and who gets what
36 Answers
Leviticus goes on and on in the Bible about which individuals and their sons should get what share of the meat.
So God thought this worthy of being included in the enduring advice to everyone??
Sounds far more in common with the wisdom of the greedy pigs in Orwell's Animal Farm than anything worthy of exalted status.
What other parts of the Bible are clearly just rubbish written by those who seek to assert their own interests by pretending their selfishness was heavenly inspired truth?

In the case of a believer who deserts his family because scripture demands he love an invisible, imaginary, presence in the sky more than he loves his own – yes, scripture is to be blamed. If this god requires such cruel and heartless forfeits, what sort of being is it? If a man were to demand similar, his fellows would be appalled – and yet in a desperate effort to save your own sorry soul, you worship this vindictive creature - and you encourage others to do likewise, hence forsaking not only their precious intellect, but abandoning a civilised moral code to boot!. Love him? I don’t even like him!
Fred, I think the Jesus the religious would have us believe in is somewhat different from the historic reality.
