he carped unceasingly
at his beautiful birthday woman.
Procrastinating long
a gin at hand
he chose the dressed crab
but ignored the lettuce
as it lay before him
like a green grace.
Watching Rowan's reaction
to his magnificent present.
As he poured tomato ketchup
into his gin
he said he would not care
to come to this home restaurant again.
