Wow DTcrosswordfan thats amazing!
Hmm, but if you find loads of cash like that and it's old banknotes - can it be 'exchanged' ?
You can always exchange them with the Bank of England, no matter how old.

Yes thats right Mike, x
Any deposit of 10k or more attracts the attention of the authorities. You'd need to be able to explain how you got it.
Phwoaar ! I wonder if they would take into account the value of the banknotes when they were printed and update their value !
Hello Mike btw - long time no communicate !
You could stay in a LOT of VERY jolly hotels with £5m

Assuming about £500/day, it would last 10.000 dyas ... that's about 30 years!
as I recall that notes found were no longer current so Lofty was asking what her? options were.
Actually, you'd need more than £500/day if you were on the run.

£1,000 a day would last 15 years.

Not so long, but it would be wild !!

Answerprancer, im not sure what they would do if they where notes we no longer used. The money i was talking about was just old £10 & £20s.
I would say nothing and place the money in a high interest account. When the bank realise their error and asked for the money back, I would give it to them and keep the interest.

Hmmm...now that I write that down, it sounds a little bit illegal.

Is it??
