PKU cakes!

Not sure whether I should have posted this in health section or not, but here goes.......

I'm wanting to attempt to make & decorate some cakes (cupcake/fairy cake type) which would be suitable for someone with PKU. (they have to eat a vegan diet with minimal protein- just one type of protein they can't have, i think).

Anyway if I was to make some, could I just replace... the milk with water, and flour with a low protein flour, and egg with an egg replacement substitute of some description?

Or do I need to find some specialist cake mix!

Thanks in advance!!
