Cheap Ski Resort
I want to go skiing (or at least attempt to) later on next year and have NO idea whatsoever on where to go. I know that the Swiss and Austrian regions are dearer but where are the cheaper ones? preferably with a cracking night life too.
I'd like to get a budget flight there but that isn't major.

Can go with an Agent or self book by getting a cheap flight to Gerona (Spain)....Alsa bus to Andorra....
I did this myself, a search of Google helped with a chalet and they arranged Ski/boot hire.
Tax/Duty free so Food and Drink is next to nothing...Nightlife is A1 and the Piste is average.
I spent 4 years working in ski resorts and you can get to and have a holiday in virtually all of them on a budget if you wanted to. The price starts rising in the bigger resorts for things like lift passes, ski hire, beer etc but dont differ hugely. If on a budget, try booking flights thru easyjet, fly-be, ryan air or even Thompson fly. The earlier you book them, the cheaper they are. For accommodation, look on the internet for the desired resorts. Most resorts have their own website with hotels and appartments on them or try your local ski centre as you will be suprised how many people own chalets and want to rent them out. Regarding nightlife and eating out, it depends on how mad you go as to how much you spend but beware, eating/drinking at the mountain resturants aren't cheap!
Hope this helps
