With laptops and desktops you get a disc and load it onto them, where does the security come from on an iPad? Thank you.

apple are a bit of a closed shop, so any software you want to download has been pre vetted by apple, thus it has been security checked.

I'll be interested to know this, I won't do internet banking on it. Do you think it's safe to do so cazzz?
Also IOS is (allegedly) got much better security built into the way it works.

In theory this should be correct as it's based on unix/linux, but it's possible Apple have broke the normal security.
Just found this, haven't got the wit to go through it properly just now.
I am cautious about using these new banking apps, not to say it isnt safe, just that I would like to see it working successfully without incident for a time before I contemplate using it myself.
Think I'll stick to the desktop for banking.
My brother (who will buy anything shiny with an apple logo on it) assures me no extra software is needed for security on the iPad or Macs.

I use the Barclays ping it app to check my balance when I'm out and about. It's pretty handy. Haven't had the opportunity to try sending money on it yet.
