Bush lcd tv help needed

I have been given a bush television but minus the remote control. I have bought a new remote and am aware that i need to sync it with the tv in order for the remote to work. However when switching the tv on at the main socket the tv is on standby - i.e nothing on the scredn, the small red light is just on. Anyone any ideas on how to get the tv on so i can sync my new remote? Thanks

with our TV, you press the power button on the remote to wake up the TV.

The remote hasnt been used with this tv before thou and i thought i needed to sync it or something first??

Doesn't it tell you on the instructions which came with the remote?

If you've bought the proper bush remote control then you just need to stick the batteries in the remote and use it.

If you've bought a generic all in one type remote you will need to enter a code on the remote to get it to work with the brand of TV you have, if this is the case the instructions that came with the remote will detail how to do this and give you a list of codes for each brand of TV.

Aren't there any control buttons on the tv itself? When the tv is on standby just push the channel up or down button to bring it to life. Then sync the new remote.
