I do a lady's ironing for her, a very professional business woman. I've just got to the last item - a silk pair of pyjama bottoms, haven't let the iron cool down enough , and the iron has stuck straight to them and they now have an iron shaped hole in them, just like out of a Benny Hill sketch!!
Do I reurn ironing and deny them even being in there or do I fess up??They look pretty expensive : (
p.s. how do you remove purple melted silk from an iron???
you should tell her she will find out anyway. Next time place a cloth over anything flimsy or expensive and iron over the cloth.
Try a brillo pad to clean the iron or there is some stuff called something like "iron off" which will do the job try Robert Dyas for it.
Maybe this lady wont be so bad as you think and she should admire your honesty.
Looking on the black side - if you own up, volunteer to pay, she says yes please and they turn out to be hidiously expensive, do you have insurance to cover something like this?
