Bradley Walsh, the quizmaster, on The Chase programme, is an excellent game show host with a great sense of humour who really adds value to the programme and I like him very much, but I do wish that someone would ask him to say "you were" instead of "you was" and "those things" instead of "them things"
I know that this is common parlance in some parts of the South East of England, but it's a pity, (or am I being pedantic)

"I love local speech variations even if they are often grammatically incorrect."

Ditto. I find it refreshing when regional accents appear on TV.
Who decided that middle-english was 'proper' anyway?!
The BBC did,Mattk.
You mean 'received pronunciation', Matt. Middle English is something quite different: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_English
boxtops - it's not Brummies who say we'm - that's black country folk from Walsall and the loike! :-)
I tutor trainee teachers and always pick them up on their grammar - 'you was' is a favourite, drives me mad!!
Oi chattykathy, I'm from Walsall and your right we'm like that.
It's loike ay it? ;-)
Ar it is ay it ;-)
Murraymints, don't know why, but it's only the black characters that say ARKS instead of ASK, I did actually 'ask' a black friend of mine why, and she doesn't understand why either?

Rachel Riley wears a different dress every day and really looks good in them.
Presumably, the dresses are lent to her by the producers of the programme.
I wish I could discover the name of the designer (s) and the manufacturer/retailer so that I could buy a similar dress for my daughter, Helen, who has the same vital statistics as Rachel.
Can anybody suggest a way of doing this, please?
I have found out that Rachel has a Twitter address "Twitter@RachelRileyRR"
but I do not have a personal Twitter account so that I can "Tweet" her and ask for information about the source of her dresses.
Is there anyone who would do this for me, please?
(I have tried to open my own Twitter account several times without success)
I don't do twitter but would suggest emailing C4. They might be helpful.

Thank you for your advice, albaqwerty. I'll try e-mailing C4 as you suggest.
I would guess "should of" being used instead of "should have" is because of the abbreviation "should've".
