Red Underlined Words

Why are these appearing in threads ? When you click on them they appear to take you to some sort of advertising.

Red underlines, click to a menu, but not advertising.

It's a text ad link. One somehow got installed on my laptop and I had a horrible time trying to remove it. I think if you click on it you should find a link to the company and an somewhere in the information you should be able to find an option to uninstall. Sorry I can't quite remember what I did now.

Before getting worried about malware just check your installed add-ins.

some of the things that do this are fairly legit add-ins that can simply be removed and aren't malware.

If it's not listed in your add-ins then it might be malware and malwarebytes would be the next step .
