My baby grandson, aged 22 months, has been prescribed the above medicine for a couple of days as he has a horrible rash. He is to take three tablets dissolved in 10ml of water, today and tomorrow. This morning his steroid was mixed with a little orange juice to encourage him to drink it. (Last night when he was given it at the hospital he spat half of his dose out). Does anyone know if mixing it with something is a good idea, or is it going to affect it's effectiveness? Thank you

I dont see that mixing it would be a problem, it gets mixed with the stomach contents as soon as it is swallowed.
A very good idea...........mixing it with anything that he will swallow is advantageous and won't affect the effectiveness.

Thank you. I wondered because I know some medicines can't be mixed with grapefruit juice. Thanks
If that is the case it would tell you on the leaflet, I dont think that is the case with prednisolone, I administer in every day and I am unaware of such advice with this medication.
The leaflet does say dissolve in water so I would suggest that you dissolve it in water and then add a small amount of flavouring to the water.

Thank you. Yes it was dissolved in the water first, and then orange juice added. Thanks
Bless him, I don't blame him for spitting it out, it tastes foul. :)
Hope he's better soon.
