Spelk

I have a spelk in my finger but I can't see it but I can blooming well feel it. I've tried poking about with a needle where I think it could be but still can't see anything. Is there any way of it coming out on its own?

Apparently baking soda works well for splinters.

This method is best for tiny, invisible splinters. The baking soda paste will cause the skin to swell and push the splinter out. It's best used after other methods, since it will make the other methods (tape, tweezers, needle) more difficult because your skin will be swollen.

Well there are a few French people walking around calling these things spelks!! I never realised it wasn't in the dictionary!!

you can get it from a chemist here, coccinelle, but in France I don't know.

you can make your own up.
get some soggy soap from the bottom of your bar of soap,mix with a little sugar and put it over the area.cover with a plaster.leave overnight.Voila!
