When plastering a ceiling
5 Answers
A small question. We want to get a builder in to plaster over an artex ceiling in our small flat.
We have seen one plasterer so far and he has insisted that we clear out our through lounge of furniture for this work. We have no where to put our furniture, let lone be able to move it, as we are elderly. I had thought our furniture could be covered over and then moved around from one side of the room to the other, as work progressed.
Does one really have to move furniture out of a room when plastering a ceiling?
Thanks for any advice.

If the whole room isn't fitted out with a raised platform (nice, but not essential), then he'll work off a hop-up or a pair of steps. Either requires constant moving around to get at the whole surface.
I'm afraid there is no practicable shortcut.
