Joining twitter

I've never been on and am on the joinup page.
Once you've joined up and are on the main site is there an index with names or categories ie. Movie stars, Authors etc..? To browse? How do you choose who to follow and what else is there to do on twitter?

With the help of #Discover option on the top of the twitter page, you can able to find out and follow different people by categories. As per my opinion, follow those people on the twitter in who, you are interested and your profile has been created because it will help to increase your knowledge for the specific thing in which you are interested.
