I find it amazing the amount of money some people spend in there a week.

I refuse to pay more for a cup of coffee than for a pint of beer.
Starbucks and the rest have a base cost of around 20p for a coffee the rest is profit.

I enjoy Starbucks for a treat, likewise Costa but I prefer Starbucks.
kiki - I wish!!! Actually if I owned it I would make sure the coffee was drinkable not that disgusting stuff they serve now. Makes me wonder how they manage to sell it. Must be some people with no taste buds, or perhaps an acquired taste.
That's me....a spendthrift idiot with no tastebuds :-)
Sorry, woofie - I didn't mean you, you crept in before I pressed 'submit'. I expect yours is the acquired taste, it sounds posher.
And starbuckone back peddles as fast as she can lol
Pubs have costs just the same as coffee shops Naomi and a pint of beer cost them £1 20 to £1.50 to buy in, yet they can stlll sell it for less than a cup of coffee that has a base cost of a few pence. My local pub sells hand pumped best bitter for £1.79 to £2.25 a pint and a Costa coffee for £1.25 , 4 doors up the road is a new 'Costa Coffee' in a former toy shop,it sells the identical Costa Coffee for £2.75 over double the pub price. Not surprisingly the pub is packed and Costa Coffee is lucky to get 4 or 5 people in. The Pub has sofas arm chairs and free Wi-fi just as Costa coffee does yet in the pub one person can have a costa coffee while a companion has a beer or wine, that is not possible in a coffee house.
Eddie, your beer seems quite cheap, London prices are absurd. 3.50 average pint. 4 quid for Guinness i think.
never been in one...would never think to do so either !
lol starbuckone...if I gave a rat's arse about other people's opinions on my taste in beverages (or anything else) I wouldn't last a day on here.
No need to apologise :-)
Pubs offer a choice of diffrent beers why can't coffee shops offer a choice of coffee ? That is one of the things I find hardest to understand . How long would a pub that only sold the brewery choice of beer survive ?
Neither coffee shop in my town. Seems a complete rip off.
All I drink is just black coffee with no sugar, go in a Starbucks or Costas and ask for one of those and they look at you as if you're an alien.
