Does anyone know if there is a specified age that someone has to retire if they work for the NHS?

Each NHS trust will have its own policies. There is no central directive but the government's 'Age Positive' campaign is encouraging NHS trusts to abolish mandatory retirement ages. See this case study from the Age Positive site:

If you work for the NHS and anticipate that your employer may force you to retire, against your will, at a specific age, I suggest contacting your trade union (making reference to 'Age Positive') with a view to challenging the employer's policies.
