My lovely dad would have been eighty today,he died quite suddenly last year just after his birthday. A friend of mine who runs a local history website has put on a little tribute to him, which we compiled together.I've just been to have a look,i've been putting it off all day, it's lovely.

Thanks Daisy, yes thats the way to look at it,he loved life and wouldn't want us to be sad.
Thank you for sharing Polly, I know how sad it can be. The tribute was lovely and I am sure you have many happy memories to stay with you. I still miss my parents, but I have many happy memories to keep.xx
I know how you feel. My dad died when he was 79 (almost 2 months before his 80th birthday) His birthday was on 4th July and I always think about him on that date. My mum was always very sorry that he didn`t make his 80th but he did make their golden wedding anniversary which meant a lot to them. There are two things that are definite in this life - birth and death. That`s just the way it is and if someone can get to their late 70s then that is a good thing. Some people aren`t so lucky.
