Why do people think I should dishonour my wife's will?.

My wife passed away in November and I have joined a social club since.
I am surprised the majority of the members are women and I have had one at my house in the day just for company.
I thought it was only fair to tell her my wifes half of the house was willed to our son and it would soon be in his name. As a result she slammed the door and left.
What I find hard to comprehend is how many of the members of the club have since said I should have destroyed the will and got the house put totally into my name or refused to sign the transfer form which would have prevented the half the house going into my son's name.
As it happens I could not have destroyed the will. As he works for a bank he gets free safe custody so both our wills are under his control.
Also this would have been highly dishonest and I did not want my wife's wishes re her part of the house to be dishonoured.
I am still a member till the end of the year and I will not be going back to that club but I still see members on the street.
My wife's part of the house has now gone into my son's name.

Regardless of the validity (or otherwise) of this thread I am inclined to agree with Ratter. If the thought had not even entered my head about getting involved with the other person, (in my case it would be female) and she suddenly started talking about her personal finances in that way, I think I would take umbrage and be very offended.
There may be more to this than meets the eye.
Eddie....what a good post.

Markpb........my advice?

Ask yourself what do you need women for?.. companionship? sex? housekeeper?.....those are all available at your club...... just discard the one's that you feel just want your money and use the others accordingly.

I have given the same advice to Mrs sqad on my death but she will do whatever she thinks.........i will be dead.
i cant believe people still answer these threads (and the many about nursing homes) as if they are real. They are just an excuse for certain people (who have been here under other names) to trot out their "experiences"
bednobs....LOL....good fun though ..eh?
really? i just find it pathetic and not a little irritating. i guess that's what they want though! so well done them
As I said earlier, too busy laughing.
laughing on the dark side...
the thing with similar threads though is if you have a nursing home fees question and google it, the AB pops up on the first page. "Ah" thinks googling person "those folk have some expertise, I will go and ask there"
And I do think at the moment that quite a few folk do have genuine NH fees questions and circs.

OTOH, though the number of gold digging women about, who go to clubs and try to vamp older men on the strength of their ownership of a house seems to be rising to errmmm "dubious heights" by the minute.
Am sure ive read this question a few months ago
Of course you have smowball and will read it many more times as long as we keep answering. Must admit I get drawn in sometimes and as someone else said, it might be useful to someone or other, although at the moment I can't think who.

Yep...seen this asked a few times before, also the care home fees one, always the same MO and the same name making an appearance in the answers.

I think there's a troll at work!
Agree with bednobs totally.
And amazingly I agree with Messi..................
Bet they love it when they get all the answers !!!
Well I usually answer on the care home ones but anyone who calls me a troll better not want to cross my bridge!

i would say, keep this to yourself from now on AND ignore the negative people you have already told!

maybe you are mixing with a material, grasping group t wouldn't normally bother with, because you are lonely?
