am I "bovered" about the disruption where I live YES I AM !
why oh why did they not let the French have them instead of us, all that money we would have saved and all the enthuisiasts had to do was hop on Eurostar.

I'll watch some of it on TV. I wouldn't risk going though.
Are they still not the olympics no matter where they are played .so are we going to say the london olympics are moving to where ever they are going next .They are the olympics we dont say the carnusty (Know it not spelt right ) open .the thames boat race ,the twickenham cup .so its the olympics unless we refere to it as the Athens Olympics
I'm looking forward to watching it on TV from the comfort of my sofa. My sister and Brother-in-Law have tickets to cycling events.
Paralympics for me because of the children I worked with. Apart from the sadly necessary security I shall have a whale of a time.
Not in the least bothered. It's all happening in a distant city that I rarely visit.
May I join you in the loch, LNM?

My loch is 24 sq miles and has known depth of 755 ft. Some of us know its a lot deeper ?

See you soon !

We're expecting a huge amount of increased traffic through here as people arrive - but no, I'm not bothered at all to watch or see what's going on, I don't normally so won't change my habits this year.
mostly due to the increase in people and traffic.
I have been told I will have to work at home for the duration of the olympics.
Great!
Up here in Manchester, there's not much benefit from the billions being spent.

We have a world class velodrome, but they had to build themselves another one.
Venator, understand, but this is the London Games, so why would they be as far away as Manchester. I know there are other sports out of town, but not many people could be persuaded to go as far.
there won't be much benefit to Londoners, having shelled out billions of their tax to pay for it. There is already talk of what happens to the various arenas once the games are over, white elephants come to mind.
not bothered in the sense you mean.

am interested though.
Sorry, em - of course they're holding the yachting events on the Thames, too.
no of course they are not, where would anyone go? As i said there are some events that can't be held in the centre. Sailing appeals to a minority, as does cycling. But they are essentially London based. If you think that Londoners on a whole will benefit then think again.
