my v reg derv astra keeps stopping and all the lights on the dash flash on and off and then will not start, also the speedo gose up and down, any ideas

Your battery's got a faulty cell. May need changing - have it checked

replaced the battery starts and runs ok but the speedo is still going up and down and sometimes the battery light,oil light light and the other one i think its the engine check light flash and then it wont turn over and needs the battery rechargeing, its rely begging to peev me off!
