I was using Download Helper as a firefox addon quite happily until I reinstalled FF. Now, the icon has disappeared from where it was on the address line. All that is now obtainable is under Tools, Download Helper. This gives another dropdown menu which does not actually include 'download now' or anything similar. I did have a 'save to' shown which gave me the opportunity to change filename and/or location, but this does not now appear. How can I return to the 'as was' position please?

The clue is in the name add-on, it's not part of firefox, it's an add-on. Re-installing firefox will have cleared all your add-ons and made it a fresh, clean install of firefox again.

just add the add-on again.
