My screen display flashed on and off a few times, then stayed blank. I tried re starting, it was ok for a few seconds, then went blank again. Now I can`t get a display at all. The pc seems to working ok otherwise. Any suggestions as to how to correct it? Thanks.

Has the power lead worked loose at the back of the monitor.
Loose connections are first thing to check. If it is something inside the monitor or PC then that may be a shop job. If checking cables fail try to get an other PC to swap monitors and PC to see which item has the problem.

Sorry, I should have said my pc is a laptop (HP Compaq Presario 700).
I checked all connections - doesn`t seem to be any problem. It may be, as you say, a shop job.
Hopefully it is an easy (cheap) to repair internal connection then.
Oh silly thought, it is charged sufficiently is it ? Not a lot of experience with laptops but wondered if the screen was going off to save power. Unlikely now I type it, but thought I'd ask.
Yes it`s fully charged. Anyway, I always use it with mains power. It probably needs a tweak inthe works, if only I knew where the screen connection is. It does work spasmodically, so it can`t be too serious.
