Unfortunately many of the fans who watch football are no better.
I know someone with a "spare" season ticket for Fulham, and I go to the occasional game.
Now Fulham fans are generally thought of as being amongst the "better behaved" supporters, but last year they were playing Liverpool and Luis Suarez decided to "fall over" a few times far too easily.
The fans at one end started shouting in unison "Suarez is a c**t" over and over again.
Eventually Suarez gave them "the finger" and it was caught on TV and he was banned for a match.
But nothing was said or done about the Fulham fans and they will assume they can go on abusing players like this.
I feel that the stadium announcer should have asked them to stop, and if they refused (or did similar chants at other matches) they should be deducted points.
I am sure this goes on at other grounds as well, so not having a go at Fulham here, but with football trying to attract more women and families this sort of thing should be stamped out.
