I want to replace sloping toughened glass roofing on a conservatory/utility room at the back of my house with either slates or tiles to include velux windows. Do I need planning permisssion for this please?

Unless you're in a Conservation Area, or other designated areas, Planning Permission is not normally needed.

Conservatories are normally exempt from Building Regulation Approval, subject to certain conditions.
Utility rooms would normally involve Building Regs, but it rather depends on the conditions I mentioned above.
