In the early 80s I remember seeing on tv a film or tv drama about a planet or place where there was never any sunshine, it was always cloudy. There was a group of school children, and one day, a boy locked a girl in a cupboard without any windows as a prank. At that moment, the sun shone for the very first (and only) time, but the girl missed it and all she could see was a small shaft of light coming under the door. Does anyone remember this film or know what it was called?

This is a short story by Ray Bradbury called "All Summer in a Day", filmed under the same title in1982: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0195517/combined Probably been adapted elsewhere, too.

Gosh, I remember watching that so long ago as well. Brings back memories!

Thanks LeMarchand. I watched that programme when I was only about 3 or 4 years old but it stuck in my memory all that time!
