Why Would Anyone Have A Leasehold?
Society & Culture0 min ago
A year ago I moved out to the countryside. We had quite a few flies in the house over the summer (which I expected - part and parcel of country living). However I still have a worrying amount of big horrible slow moving flies in the house. I am swatting like a demon but where the hell are they coming from? The thought horrifys me, but is there a rotting mass somewhere in the house that I am not aware of that they are coming from? Are there maggots (turning into flies) somewhere in my house? The thought of it all is nearly worse than the flies themselves, but has anyone any idea about 1) where they might be coming from or 2) how I can get rid of the critters?

I have an auntie who lives in the sticks and she had a problem with bats. The bats themselves where fine but it was their droppings and any week young that died where left to rot and hence the flies came and then more flies. She got Rentokil out to dispose of all the droppings but the bats remain (protected species) so pest control came back every month to do a clean up. Every 2 weeks in summer. Not cheap.
