Just watching something (mindless rubbish) and I am sure the voice over man said that some people would pay up to £30,000 for a weekends (probably needs an apostrophe) shooting - I would want to be shooting unicorns for that sort of money (not that I could shoot an animal of any sort).

Chuck,My thought was it would be good to see them running, and trying to hide like the wild life they go to shoot, I don't see the foxes or grouse shooting back.
They end up as very fat pheasants in our garden Starby. And they think I provide wild bird seed just for them. They are as thick as two short planks as far as birds go, but they are beautiful and they get very tame.

A Partridge wandered into our conservatory last night and started making that loud chain saw type noise that partridges do when they call out. It was quite funny really!!
clay pigeons are very attractive in their own way too, Starbuckone. At least to their mothers.
What is so ludicrous was the recent suggestion by some Tory MP, that buzzards nests should be destroyed so that the Buzzards didn't get to the specially reared pheasant chicks, and that would stop the idiots on the shoots having their lovely jolly outings.

Hi Toes. All our pheasants are called Geoffrey!! It's easier that way!! Our current Geoffrey is Scruffy Geoff. He has lost his tail feathers and it doesn't appear to want to grow back. He spends most of his time sitting on the garden bench waiting for food.

I'm with Lottie. Fifty years ago, (in my youth), I went hunting with a work friend in Australia where I was living.
All we got for the whole weekend was a bunny which was too small to eat anyway and a cat caught in a trap which we could not get to, it was so vicious, and we had to put out of it's misery.
The whole experience put me right off and I've not been hunting since.
