I've just been advised not to eat sugar to prevent dietary problems, and I still want to enjoy low-fat fruit yogurts cos they're a great in between meal snack. Is there anywhere that sells yogurt without sugar in it? I was really shocked that all these so-called Low Fat yogurts that profess to be really good for you, actually contain quite a bit of sugar.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Make your own is the easy answer.

The sweetner the low fat yogs have is a chemical that has the properties of sugar, but the natural sugars in fresh fruit will satisfy the cravings, and as carbohydrate that occurs as sugars is in nearly everything you eat - potato, meat, fruit, other veggies, etc. - add fresh fuit to your own yog and enjoy.

Also depends on the dietary problems that you have mentioned - was it a reputable dietician who brought this up? Reducing sugars in the diet is generally a good thing, but again, natural sugars can not be totally avoided, so cut out the fat and sugar lifestyle and that should asisst with your wellbeing.

I'm diabetic and get the Weightwatchers or M&S low cal yogurts. All the other brands are low fat and high sugar, even the supposed diet ones like Diet Ski.

Some of the Rachels organic yoghurts do not have sugar - you have to check for each different flavour though - and they are very nice. Also try Yeo Valley (again, some flavours do have sugar).
