He wasn't elderly as such say at least 70 maybe younger. Nope no wife...certainly no earmuffs...sadly he didn't take the slippers but will pop back when we get more in, I even promised to call him to tell him this

Canary42 I wasn't getting worked up over his socks...I was only offering my advice as thick socks and slippers which have a thick fur lining are clearly not going to work together
they do work quite well...fluffing toastie, i would imagine x
Well I'm feeling all sorry for him now!

If he wants thick socks and furry slippers so be it. He's quite entitled to keep his socks on indoors and in these times of austerity, and with this awful weather he's probably trying to avoid having his heating on all summer.

Now, promise me you'll look him out a nice pair of size 9s or whatever it takes to keep his tootsies warm and cosy!
She's promised to fit him back into size 8 like he had before!
Honestly, if you knew some of the abuse she's had over the years she's worked fitting shoes etc. You'd understand her need to vent occasionally and if she does it on here instead of landing it all on me when she gets home from work that's fine by me. Just wait until the "Back to school" starts - I dread that every summer!
