Take away sinn which leaves er. Take er from trouser which leaves trous. Spell it differently, ie Trowse. Hey Presto, it's the best I can come up with.

Sorry forgot to say 6 letters
I looked through this list http://en.wikipedia.o..._of_places_in_Norfolk yesterday but nothing stood out. If you haven't seen it before it might give you some placenames that you haven't come across up to now.

Thanks alot I I live in Norfolk and have looked at so many county maps I think it is a name with a pronounciation that is local as so many are around here, but like you not much stands out. Thanks alot for the link much appreciated
This site gives pronunciation of Norfolk names if it is any help.

Trowse - pronounced Troose
A long shot but this could relate to garment but not sure how it fits the clue yet.

I think you're right Furrypussycat - A sinner errs and so if you take errs away from trousers you get the village (although perhaps not pronounced correctly)
