For reasons I am unaware of, I have not got the local accent at all, perhaps odd words here or there, but by and large, I am pronounced English.
My mum and dad (deceased) are local born and bred, and again do not have much of the acccent, hardly any at all, likewise my sisters.
The present Mrs Hughes is also local, and has some of the accent, which disappears entirely when she is in a work situation.
Her dad is very Pottery - her mum is irish, and her accent is undented by nearly sixty years of living here, she stilll has her lovely soft Wicklow voice.
My chldren have varying degrees of the accent, the youngest is as Pottery as they come!
Odd isn't it?

The one's that annoy me most I don't think are regional, when did boots become 'bewts' and food become 'fewd' when did turmeric become 'twomeric' and i've heard young women say 'drass' instead of dress, and when did we start to call railway stations 'train stations' you could go on and on, but we won't stop it, the 'Queens English' is sadly in decline.
