Missing person

A woman I know(our children are friends), her husband went missing 2 nights ago. She was in the bath and her son was playing outside. When she got out of the bath he wasnt in the lounge. He had gone. Police called, still nothing. Has since found paperwork to the effect that he is in a huge hole moneywise . He hasnt taken his wallet or bank cards, just the clothes he was wearing. Anybody have any knowledge of this sort of thing and the likelyhood of the person coming home quickly? Nobody knows quite what to do, apart from keep searching locally.

A friend of mine went missing recently and the Police acted within a couple of hours of him missing an appointment as he was considered to be a vulnerable person.

If there is evidence of mental problems / suicidal thoughts, that would be a reason for the police to take it more seriously. But even then if they find him they need his permission to tell anyone where he is . As I said it is not a crime for an adult to 'disappear'

Just to let you know, my son got a txt at 9pm last night from his friend saying that his dad had just turned up at home. Dont know any details but at least he is safe.

Just saw this thread. So glad he turned up. The poor man must be in a dreadful state and what an ordeal for his family.

I actually spoke to the mother at 6pm and she had said that she cant go through this again(twice now!) and that he needs some professional help. Think she is right.

Think there are huge money problems. I really feel for them, must be a horrendous situation to be in, and sadly quite a common at the moment

I'm glad he's returned. Could his wife contact the family GP and ask for a home visit? That way the GP could just be 'dropping in' and could just have a general chat and assess the poor man for any help?
(I don't even know if they are allowed to do that anymore tho :-( )

alba i think that only happens on doctors now, most out of hours or home visitsseem to be done by agency staff.
