Booking a Holiday on the Internet.
I keep being told booking a holiday on the internet is simple and straight forward and saves masse of money.
I have to say this is not the case for me. I can never find the hoilday I want, there is a lack of detail about the resort/location and it does not appear to be any cheaper. In fact the opposite is the case.
All I want is a holiday in Turkey in August for me my wife and kids in a resort where my wife can look at places of interest and the kids and I can slob out.
Can anybody out there in AB land recommend an easy to use site for an internet idiot like me or indeed suitable locations in Turkey

I have just booked to go to Portugal for 58 return inc tax, if iI had wanted to go to Turkey on those same dates I would have paid 292.
Accomadation is cheap and easy to find, its the flights which are not.
Try sites like www.traveljungle.co.uk
I book all my holidays and most of my friends on the Internet. I find it easier and more flexible to book the flights and hotel seperate.
For flights to Turkey:
Hotels/Apartments:
www.medhotels.com (excellent site)
Resorts:
Icmeler (smallish but nice and friendly - good beach)
Check out hotel reviews on:
You can even book the Airport transfers before you go which saves you waiting and sitting on the coach whilst it drope everyone else off.
Hope it helps...!!
Even if you can find a suitable charter flight, however, it's not going to be particularly cheap if you intend to travel in August.
Plenty of charter flights use both international airports serving Istanbul and there are no shortage of hotels and resorts close by but until you've got your flight sorted there's not much point looking for accommodation.
If you'll indicate which part of the country you're in, ABers might be able to help with searching for flights.
