but I have lived through 26 Olympic Games and nearly all of them (before TV came along) meant very little to ordinary working class people in the UK.The only way they saw them was on a cinema newsreel,and that was very limited.
In 1948,several members of my family (not me) wanted to attend the London Olympics but sadly could not afford it.
So I can safely say that the Olympics have passed me by,and I have absolutely no regrets over it.
