Anyone else watching this Andrew Lloyd Webber show where they are singing for the role of Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar"
Who is your favourite so far?

Nobody mentioned Jon (ex Butlins) whom I think is certainly in the top three!

I certainly like Jon, especially from last night's performance!

AAAARRGGGHHH - Tim's performance tonight - HORRIBLE, hated the loud screaming at the end! Call that singing? But all the judges seemed to like it ........ not my idea of a "Jesus" song!

Early days , but I think jon stands a real good chance of winning!

Maybe it will be Rory, he is really good and Andrew favours him a lot, think he has him ear marked for the Jesus part.

I watched the first episode, but I haven't watched since I flicked over to the first live performance and they all sounded awful. Loud, screaming and over the top performances. I think this programme format has had its day now. The BBC obviously agree but maybe ALW paid enough for ITV to take it on.

Sorry to say this but I'm pleased Tim went tonight, couldn't stand another song with his falsetto screaming! Andrew definitely told him last night not to do any more screaming ..... and what did he do tonight? Three times as much!

Why did Andrew flinch so much when he did it and tell him specifically not to do it again when next he sang?

According to the bookies, the favourites to win are Rory, followed by David and then Nathan. Rory definitely seems to be the judges favourite, I feel that he is a very good singer, but seems to have a very young baby face and I cannot see him as Jesus.
ALW is pushing the point that no one knows what Jesus looked like, however the image we all know is the slim bearded man with dark long hair. If the public is true to form they will pick someone who looks the part such as they have done with Maria, Nancy and Joseph.
Saying that if Rory wins, I am sure he will look the part by the time they finish with him!
Personally I would still like Nathan to win!

Toes I did listen to your link thanks, did you actually listen to Tim on the show? It was nothing compared to this great performance on the link you gave. There is a difference to a great high powered climatic finish to a song and an ear piercing squeal which came out of Tims mouth, it made all my family screw their faces up! Why did he do that? He had a good voice but this really let him down, in my opinion.

Well its down to the last few - 2 more evicted last night. The show continues Mon, Tues, finishes Wed next week. For all you regular viewers who do you now like? Have you changed your mind? For me its between Roger (who I liked from the start) and Ben. Unfortunately, I so much don't want Nathan to win but he probably will ................

For what it's worth I thought Jon was far the best in the three man sing off last night. I think he should sue for wrongful dismissal. Roger & Jeff were poor IMO. Why bother with the sing off at all if it means nothing?

It's evident ALW has got his favourite and I believe he knows who he wants as Jesus already. He's only going through the motions now.

It was good to hear an actual song from the show. I hope there's a few more next week.
